A Family Medicine physician, also known as a Primary Care Physician, provides both the first contact for a person with an undiagnosed health concern as well as continuing care of varied medical conditions. Family Practice physicians work closely with patients and families to determine a diagnosis and a plan of action for treatment, which may include a referral to another departmental specialist.
